When on holiday in Cornwall you should make the most of your proximity to the sea and partake in some of the local watersports and activities. Thankfully, in Rock we have a whole slew of instructors and providers just a short distance away to help realise this.

The below list is a small selection of some of our favourite locals who will get you on the water.

Camel Sailing

Established more than 30 years ago, Camel Sailing School provides excellent personal tuition for all things sailing and powerboating. Camel Sailing also offers accredited courses in RYA power and sailing, where you can choose to learn one-to-one or in a group. The school offers practical and theoretical knowledge and accommodates all ages and abilities to get both the little nippers and veterans on the water.

Camel Ski School

Since 1978, Camel Ski School has offered a wide range of activities such as waterskiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, SUP, kayak, inflatable rides and boat charters. All bookings are available to groups and parties.

Camel Ski School also has an impressive set up known as The Island Cafe. Everything from parties to yoga and private BBQs are held on this floating pontoon in the middle of the estuary making this the perfect seaborne getaway.

Surf’s Up

Recognised as the number one surf training centre in the UK, all instructors are trained lifeguards as well as being ESF qualified. Found on Polzeath Beach, the lessons are packed with activities. They will have you shredding the waves in no time, no matter your starting ability.

Perfect for all ages and groups, surf lessons with these guys will be an experience to remember from your holiday. They often have a professional photographer at the shoreline, snapping your best moments on the board which are available to purchase after your session.

Wavehunters

Also based in Polzeath, with other locations along the north coast, Wavehunters offers a wide range of beach activities, including surfing and paddleboarding lessons, and the chance to discover Cornwall’s marine life on a Sea Safari tour.

Wavehunters also runs weekly fitness and yoga classes on the beach, designed for everyone. Whatever age you are or where you’re from, Wavehunters is there to help you discover the amazing wonders of the sea.
